Check up Jan 11

by Chris Perrin on Jan.11, 2010, under Check Up

Back on track.

Eatingwise, that wasn’t too tough.  I remembered to eat my shredded wheat Fiber One cereal on the way out the door and slipped right into good eating habits.  I even took the boy out to dinner.  I had 3 sushi rolls, a side salad, and a little mushroom soup.  I also ordered some veggies, but I wasn’t even hungry for them.  That is a huge sign and I have a delicious lunch for tomorrow!

Doing the exercise took a bit more pushing.  I really have a love/hate thing going on with my Wii Active right now, but I’m still doing it.  33 minutes, 470 calories.  I don’t know if I trust the measurements, but whatever.  I worked up a nice sweat.  And went yard in baseball like 10 times.

Tomorrow…the scale.  Wish me luck?

    Luck!

Also, is this the EA Wii Active? The pne withe the punching woman on the box?

That’s the one. My wife has the Wii Fit Plus, but I’m too heavy for the balance board. I would recommend it despite it’s obvious flaws. And the fact the trainer’s voice is sooooo iritating.

I have the same issue with the balance board, and I have Wii Active, still in its box, and skepticism has kept it there, but apparently I need to bust it out.

Here’s my advice…give yourself some time to get used to it. I am still mastering the strap around my leg. I was rocking some track when suddenly I felt it slip, sweaty off my leg. (Sorry, not the best image, but there’s a point I’m making…it slips.)

When I wore it around my shorts, it slid, too. And worse. So give it some time.

Also, wear tennis shoes… you’ll need the cushion.

Lastly, remember the software isn’t perfect. Sometimes it will know what you’re doing, sometimes it won’t have a [insert expletive] clue what you’re doing. I take the good with the bad.

Overall, Wii Active is a net positive. I like it. I need to get strong weight bands and my guess is you will, too.

Sorry, one more thing… move how your guy is moving on the screen. When it sways, you sway. All those extra moves = extra calories.
